Welcome to Clicking Publish! My name is Matthew Mallard, founder and creator of Clicking Publish.

Behind every great business is a great origin story, right? Well, I wouldn’t say my origin story is exactly movie script material, but it’s more so the story of an average everyday guy wanting to make money online and achieve financial freedom.

For years I had read about people that started a blog, and now they're making thousands of dollars every month in passive income. Honestly, this sounded pretty far-fetched, but what did I have to lose?

I used to listen to podcasts from Pat Flynn and other gurus in the finance space. If they could do this, why couldn't I? What is so different between them and me? What made them successful?

The only difference I could see is that successful people didn't just listen to stories about other successful people. They actually took action!

So I decided to take action. Whether I failed miserably or skyrocketed to success, I was going to do more than sit on my couch and listen to the success others had.

I had bought courses in the past, watched them, and decided to do nothing with them (sound familiar?). Not this time, though. I'm taking action FOR REAL this time (that's what I kept telling myself).

I started My First Website

So with lots of prayer and determination, I started my first website in late November 2019. My goal with this website was to bring in some extra cash each month to help supplement the income from my full-time job.

Additionally, I wanted to finally make some of this juicy passive income that everyone keeps talking about!

Traditionally, bloggers will write posts on topics they think are cool or interesting, then wonder why their posts never actually generate traffic to their website. I’ve been down this road myself in the past, and it’s never fun. I knew I needed to take a different approach that would work and help me make money from my blog.

With that in mind, I started researching how to make money blogging. I’ve bought courses in the past on this, but nothing that really worked to the extent I needed. One day I came across a couple of guys on YouTube, and they were talking about how they have a portfolio of websites that earn them full-time incomes.

I was, of course, pretty skeptical about this since people will say anything to make a buck, but what did I have to lose? Plus, their community seemed really supportive and helpful. I reluctantly signed up for their course, but with an open mind.

The goal is to teach you how to build a successful blog that produces a full-time income in about 24 months. While the definition of full-time income is different for everyone, generally, they say if you’re making $4,000 USD per month, that’s considered full-time.

It had only been about 23 months since I had bought the domain name (I love using Namecheap to buy domains), chose a great web host (Cloudways is seriously the best web host), and started on my blogging journey.

Since then, the websites have been steadily gaining in traffic and generating a sizeable income (using Ezoic Ads) for my family and me. With every day that passes, the earnings keep increasing as I publish more blog posts.

I’m truly happy and blessed to have come this far with my business. How I scaled this business

After achieving a full-time income from my websites, I knew this was a process I could easily automate by outsourcing. Thus I've spent the last two years writing down and recording every single thing I've done to create a business that anyone can easily replicate.

Over the last two years, I've put together an amazing team of people that work together to build this business up to what it is today.

Creating SOPs (standard operating procedures) for every aspect of the business allowed me to quickly create and scale new websites by delegating 90% of the business operations to my team.

I've had many successes and failures throughout this journey. I started Clicking Publish to share those with the world and help those that are interested in starting a content business have the best chance for success.

Clicking Publish is about sharing the most important thing I've learned from creating this blogging business…clicking that publish button. It's really the number one thing that takes you from $0 to full-time income.

So Who Exactly is Matt?

Listen, I'm flattered you want to know more about me. I truly am. But don't start going all stalker on me, okay? That's just creepy.

I'm a pretty private guy, so you probably won't see my face plastered on the website or on YouTube. I just want to share my journey with others and help them achieve the same success I have with starting and automating a successful content business (all credit goes to God).

When I'm not building websites or discussing business, I'm probably doing one of the following:

1. Telling people about Jesus Christ and how amazing The Chosen is!
2. Spending time with family and friends.
3. Shoving delicious food in my mouth (while doing #1 and #2)
4. Debating Marvel vs. DC
5. Working out
6. Watching fitness videos on YouTube while doing #3 on this list
7. Being grateful and reflecting on what's really important in life (God, family, and the simple things we usually take for granted)

The number 7 is a good number, so I think I'll end that list there.

Anyways, the point of Clicking Publish is to encourage people just to click publish already! The hardest part is just getting started.
